Built at the Intersection of
Cybersecurity, Healthcare & Public Safety

Code 4 Consulting exists because the organizations that protect our communities face a problem no single discipline can solve alone. Emergency managers understand disasters but not always technology failures. IT departments understand networks but not what a CAD outage means at 2 a.m. Cybersecurity firms understand threats but not operational reality.

Our founder sits at the center of all three. Thirty-one years as a working paramedic. ICS 400 incident command certification. A doctorate in cybersecurity. Statewide critical infrastructure coordination for the NJ Office of Homeland Security. Direct consultation experience with healthcare practices on cybersecurity and HIPAA compliance. The result is a consulting practice that speaks every language your clients need — from the fire chief worried about ransomware taking down CAD to the practice manager who just received a HIPAA audit notice.

Founder & Principal Consultant
Code 4 Consulting

A career that has never fit neatly into one box — and that's exactly the point. From the back of an ambulance to statewide critical infrastructure coordination to doctoral research on 911 center vulnerabilities, every chapter has added a layer of perspective that no single-discipline consultant can replicate. Code 4's founder doesn't approach client engagements as a cybersecurity consultant, or an emergency manager, or an IT advisor. The approach is simpler: find every way your organization could fail to protect the community it serves, and close those gaps.

Why Code 4?

The Code 4 were the legendary warrior bands of ancient Ireland — elite protectors who served in the gaps between society and the threats it could not see coming. They were called when a single discipline wasn't enough. They operated at the boundaries: in the forests, on the margins, in the uncertain spaces between safety and chaos.

They weren't just fighters. They were required to be scholars, physicians, musicians, and strategists. The Code 4 were multi-disciplinary by design — because the threats they faced didn't respect single-discipline boundaries.

That's exactly the position this firm occupies. The threats facing public safety organizations today — ransomware, CAD failures, hurricanes, mass casualty incidents, data breaches — don't stay inside the lanes of cybersecurity, or emergency management, or clinical operations. They overlap, compound, and cascade.

Code 4 Consulting operates at that intersection — not because no one else does, but because that's where the mission requires us to be. The name is a promise: we show up where it's difficult, we stay until it's resolved, and we prepare you for the next one.

Protecting Those Who
Protect Others

Our mission is simple: help the organizations that protect our communities stay operational under any condition. Not just cyber threats. Not just natural disasters. Not just system failures. All of it — because real-world incidents don't stay neatly inside one category.

We bring operational experience, technical expertise, and strategic perspective together in every engagement — because our clients can't afford to hire three different consultants to solve one problem.

Core Values

What We Stand For

🚨

Mission First

Every recommendation we make is filtered through one question: does this help the agency protect their community more effectively and safely?

🎯

Operational Realism

We don't prescribe solutions built for Fortune 500 IT departments. Our recommendations work in the real-world constraints of public safety agencies and healthcare organizations.

🔬

Evidence-Based Practice

Our work is grounded in established frameworks — NIST, ICS, HIPAA Security Rule, and CIS Controls — adapted for the operational realities of the agencies we serve.

🤝

Partnership, Not Transaction

We build long-term relationships with our clients. Resilience and security aren't one-time projects — they're ongoing commitments, and we show up accordingly.
